1. Creation of ancient state of Israel –The Jewish people believe that the land (Israel) was given to them by God. Moses led the Jews to this land during the Exodus. They never left willingly. The Romans conquered them and force them to leave.

The Ottoman Empire was weakened from centuries of fighting and poor leadership. They sided with Germany during WWI and LOST. The empire was divided by the Allies. Great Britain was given Palestine as a mandate.
During WWI, Britain promised the Arabs the land if they ed defeat the Ottoman Turks.
